PSC Quick Scan 1000 Scanner



How to Configure a PSCQuickScan 1000 Keyboard Wedge Barcode Scanner

The instructions below once completed are the minimum requirements needed to allow this make of scanner to work within the Fieldpine POS application.
Note: You will require a copy of the PSC QuickScan 1000 Handheld Laser Scanner Programming Guide in order to configure the scanner. The instructions below assume that the scanner is set to work with keyboard PS2 keyboard attached. Pleass read the Programming Overview part of the programming guide. It will descibe the number and tone of scanner beeps while scanner is being programmed.

  1. Scan the Return to Factory Settings barcode on page 7 of the programming guide.

  2. Scan the Set barcode once on page 23.

  3. Scan the Enable barcode code on page 23.

  4. Scan the End barcode on page 23.

  5. Scan the Set barcode once on page 33.

  6. Scan the Set Prefix barcode once on page 33.

  7. Scan the 0 and 2 barcodes on page 35.

  8. Scan the One Character Only barcode on page 36.

  9. Scan the End barcode once on page 36.

  10. Scan the Set barcode once on page 34.

  11. Scan the Set Suffix barcode once on page 34.

  12. Scan the 0 and 3 barcodes on page 35.

  13. Scan the One Character Only barcode on page 36.

  14. Scan the End barcode once on page 36.

  15. Restart the P.C

  16. Open a blank wordpad document and scan barcode from a product. Every second scan should be in normal characters and every other should be in bold characters. There should be no carridge returns after each scan. eg. This is correct - 941491230014094149123001409414912300140

  17. At this point the scanner should work within the Fieldpine POS software once you have enabled a keyboard wedge scanner within the application.
