The POS will generate receipts under several conditions:
It is possible to create multiple receipt formats, and to select the format to be used using the POS-Command
sale(printformat(??)). Each sale has one receipt format, which defines how the receipt should appear, and even which printer it should appear on. This allows you to create different
receipts based on customer, what is being purchased or other criteria.
To create a new receipt, from the configure printing page, press the new button
illustrated. You will be prompted for a new receipt format name (less than 32 alphanumeric characters). To change a receipt format that you have already created, simply select it from
the drop list, and the screen will show the layout information for that receipt format.
This receipt is created using the following setup.

If you wish to provide a seasonal message for your receipts, such as a Christmas greeting or other special event, to either simply join in the seasonal spirit, or to convey information such as differing opening hours, you can adjust your receipts during this period to provide whatever messages you desire.
There are two main ways you can achieve this, by adding additional footer text to the receipt, which provides text based messages, and works on all printers, or by using a footer picture, which supplies a graphical picture, often including additional wording. You can use both techniques together if you wish.
To add a footer picture, follow these steps:
Hint: Looking for a quick picture to use and not wanting to create your own? Fieldpine
have a range of images in the receipt image library you can use free of charge. Extra submissions to the library gratefully received!
Printing a BarcodeIf desired, the receipt can include a barcode to represent the sale number of the sale. This requires a printer capable of printing a barcode and sale numbers that are within the range of acceptable barcodes, which means they should be at least 5 digits in length for reliable scanning. To print a barcode, select the barcode symbology to be used for a receipt format. It is possible to have different barcode printing settings according to the receipt format. |
If you require an additional office copy for a receipt, tick the box "Office Copy" on the receipt configuration page, this causes the POS to print a second copy of the receipt when the format is used. The additional copy is identical to the first copy, except the header and footer image pictures are internally removed.
