Where do I connect a label printer

My store has a back office out the back running my store controller, and also a front counter out in the shop. I have a label printer and want to print both item labels and some specific labels as part of selling a product.

Practically, I want the printer out the front as a I don't want to run out the back whilst dealing with customers, but I know that normal shelf labels will need to print from the back office.

Options

If the printer is a network printer, meaning it connects to the network and not an individual PC, then it can go anywhere. Both Fieldpine systems, the store controller and PosGreen, are able to print to network printers and are not restricted by cable lengths.

If the printer is USB, then connect it to the front/store PC. You will need to create a network print queue on the back office to point to this device on the front PC.

Most Fieldpine label printing uses Windows Print queues, so if you have a working Windows print queue, Fieldpine can print to it. There are a couple of exceptions, but these are rare.
